The thoughtful use of recycled materials and a design that allows a smooth transition from indoors to outdoors makes the Quicktrail safety work athletic by Kodiak a versatile option for the workplace. This mid-height style has an upper is made of a lightweight, yet durable polyester containing a minimum 50-percent recycled plastic; shoe laces are made of 100-percent recycled plastic. Scuff-resisting overlays on the toe and heel bolster durability and 3M reflective appliques increase visibility in low-light conditions. A padded collar with pull tab circles around to a microfiber tongue with Lycra sport-gusset that widens the opening for foot placement and also mitigates debris from entering the shoe. Cemented to the upper is a dual density EVA midsole with rubber outsole. This flat outsole with cleated tread pattern makes full contact with the ground, but is not stiff due to strategically-placed flex zones. The outsole also is non-marking and slip-resisting.
Safety features meet or exceeds ASTM F2413 and CSA Grade 1 safety standards for protective toe work footwear. ROCKFIBRE METAL FREE technology makes these athletics non-metallic with a nano composite safety toe. These shoes also are electrical-hazard resisting to the ASTM footwear standard and puncture-resisting to the CSA standard. For comfort a quality Comfortzone LITE footbed containing an OrthoLite Hybrid compound will retain shape. Protective Toe
Impact testing determines the amount of protection to the toe under various foot pounds of force. Compression testing determines the amount of static pressure a steel/composite toe cap can withstand. Our boots are I75/C75
Electrical Hazard
Footwear is built with nail-free construction using steel composition toe caps to help insulate you from the ground retard conduction, but is not intended to be primary protection against electric shock. Leather footwear must be dry. Our electrical hazard boots meets and exceeds ASTM F2413-05 electrical hazard standards.
Puncture Resistant
PR footwear reduces the possibility of sharp objects (nails, glass or metal) penetrating through the outsole causing injury to the foot. Protection is provided by a steel or puncture resistant material imbedded in the insole of the footwear.
CSA Approved - Sole Puncture Protection with Grade 1 Protective Toe
Grade 1 protective toe will withstand up to 125 joules (50 lbs) dropped from 0.6 m. Sole puncture protection is designed to withstand a force of not less than 1200 Newtons (270 lbs) and resist cracking after being subjected to 1.5 million flexes.
